Guo Xin
Researcher in Circular Economy & LCA
Guo Xin is a PhD candidate at the College of Environmental Science and Engineering, Tongji University. His research focuses on circular economy, life cycle assessment (LCA), and sustainable packaging systems, with particular attention to the interaction between materials, structural design, supply chains, and environmental impact.
His work bridges academic research and real-world application. He has contributed to a national key R&D program on bio-based packaging materials, providing life cycle assessment support for food packaging systems. He has also delivered safety-oriented and low-waste packaging design solutions for pandemic-related food delivery and logistics scenarios. During his doctoral studies, Guo participated in the Nike footwear carbon footprint assessment project, with certified results later applied to the Alipay mini-program “Nike Reuse-A-Shoe”.
Previously, he worked at a domestic LCA software company, where he contributed to brand-level supply chain carbon footprint accounting frameworks and reporting. Guo is proficient in ArtiosCAD, eFootprint, and other design and LCA tools, enabling him to translate quantitative environmental assessment into actionable design and engineering strategies.
Journal of Cleaner Production、Science of the Total Environment His academic publications appear in journals such as Journal of Cleaner Production and Science of the Total Environment. He is also the recipient of the WPO WorldStar Student Awards and holds multiple patents in packaging and sustainable design.
